Our mission
AJSOCAL is a social justice organization that protects and strengthens the rights and dignity of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities, especially those that are most disadvantaged.
Our Vision
An inclusive, equitable world for all in which AAPIs are empowered and thrive.
Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) have long been leaders, community members, and change makers. With over 50 ethnicities and over 100 languages and dialects, our rich history intertwines with efforts for racial justice, immigration, and civil liberties.
Today, AAPIs are 7.2% of the US population, 15.3% of the electorate in California, and the fastest growing ethnic population in the US. This breadth of resilience informs the way we continue to fight for access and equity. From the earliest immigrants in the 1800s, to building communities across nationalities and experiences, to empowering community members to vote, educating ourselves and allies, we are advancing justice.
Core Values
- Compassion: We serve with humility and respect.
- Community Responsiveness: We focus on the needs of and within our communities.
- Courage: We must be bold to transform lives and communities.
- Collaboration: We do not achieve change or transformation through silos.
